About

Greetings beloved! I’m Nisha Shanti, and so grateful you’ve landed here.

I am a lifelong yoga student, yoga and meditation teacher, breathwork facilitator, soundscape artist, reiki healer, mother and creator, heartfelt friend, and lover of life and humanity.

My journey with spirituality and wellness began in my early childhood, as I learned my cultural practices of yoga, prānāyāma, mantra, meditation, and yoga philosophy through oral tradition with my grandparents. I can recall sitting in my grandfather’s lap as a young child while he taught me nāḍī shodhana prānāyāma (alternate nostril breathwork), recited mantras with me, and talked about yogic philosophy. My decade long training in bharatanatyam, an ancient Indian temple dance, has played a part in my yoga journey as bharatanatyam dancers use many of the same āsanas we see in a modern yoga class today. My dance background has led me to have a strong focus on creative sequencing and healthy alignment while I teach yoga. My formal Yoga Teacher Training was completed while I lived in an ashram in the Himalayan foothills of India. Additionally, I offer reiki and vibrational healing as two methods of energy healing. Sometimes these may be incorporated into a yin or restorative class, or sometimes I will present these offerings on their own.

My heart is full of gratitude and joy for my practice and the blessing that I can share these gifts with my community. I am most joyful when creating and facilitating circles, retreats, and events for our community, which can include yoga, breathwork, guided meditation, fire rituals, ecstatic dance, creative crystal mala making, reiki, vocal toning, and vibrational sound healing. I love to connect on a deep soul level with sisters and brothers across the lands, and my intention is to create a warm environment where my students feel safe, supported, and inspired.

Blessings
